Our Mission
We create inclusive communities for a more peaceful world in which to make a life, by developing leaders, uniting members through friendship and rendering service to all.

Who are we?
Founded by Frank Reed Horton in 1925, Alpha Phi Omega, more commonly known as APO, is a national gender-inclusive service fraternity with over 375 chapters across campuses nationwide and an expansive alumni network of over 400,000 brothers. We allow our members the opportunity to develop leadership skills as they volunteer in our chapter, on our campus, in our community, and our country. Alpha Phi Omega strives to provide more service on more campuses than any other collegiate service organization.
So, what exactly is APO all about?
Alpha Phi Omega is a fraternity, but there are a few things that set us apart from social fraternities:
We are a Service Fraternity
When people think of fraternities, they think of social fraternities, which emphasize the sense of belonging to a group. Alpha Phi Omega has a more significant cause: to develop leadership, promote friendship, and provide service to humanity through various organizations and events.
We are Gender-Inclusive
We are Gender Inclusive: Alpha Phi Omega is open to people from all different gender identities and backgrounds. We strive to create a space that celebrates our brothers' differences.
We Accept Undergraduate and Graduate Students
We accept Undergraduate and Graduate Students: Our chapter at the University of New Haven is proud to accept all students at the university. Under both the Undergraduate Student Government Association and the Graduate Student Council, we accept all undergraduate and graduate students.
